November 19th is National Enteropathic Arthritis Day in Canada. This is the third year we acknowledge this special day. We have applied to illuminate several landmarks across Canada in EnA colors (purple). Keep an eye out on this page for updated landmarks!
Enteropathic arthritis is a spondyloarthritic condition and an invisible illness for many Canadians.
- Enteropathic arthritis is a form of inflammatory arthritis that can affect the spine and peripheral joints. The arthritis is associated with inflammation in the gut.
- Occurs in 0.06 to 0.5% of the population (source)
- About 10-20% of people with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) will develop enteropathic arthritis. (source)
- The two most commonly known inflammatory bowel disease types are ulcerative colitis and Crohn’s disease.
