Dans cette vid\u00e9o, Brenda Delodder<\/strong>, directrice g\u00e9n\u00e9rale de l’Association canadienne de spondylarthrite (ACS)<\/strong>, s’entretient avec Erin, une militante inspirante, m\u00e8re et personne atteinte d’arthrite psoriasique (APs)<\/strong> depuis l’enfance.<\/p>\n

Un long chemin vers le diagnostic<\/strong> : Erin a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 pr\u00e9senter des sympt\u00f4mes vers l’\u00e2ge de neuf ans, mais il a fallu plusieurs ann\u00e9es et d’innombrables visites chez le m\u00e9decin avant qu’elle ne re\u00e7oive un diagnostic clair d’arthrite psoriasique \u00e0 l’\u00e2ge de 14 ans.<\/li>\n
La force \u00e0 travers l’adversit\u00e9<\/strong> : malgr\u00e9 la douleur, la fatigue et le doute, elle est rest\u00e9e d\u00e9termin\u00e9e \u00e0 vivre pleinement sa vie : elle a termin\u00e9 ses \u00e9tudes, travaill\u00e9 avec des enfants, puis est devenue \u00e9pouse et m\u00e8re.<\/li>\n
Apprendre t\u00f4t \u00e0 se d\u00e9f<\/strong>endre : le m\u00e9decin d’Erin l’a encourag\u00e9e \u00e0 jouer un r\u00f4le actif dans ses propres soins, l’aidant ainsi \u00e0 gagner en confiance et en ind\u00e9pendance dans la gestion de sa maladie.<\/li>\n

Erin\u2019s Journey: From Diagnosis to Advocacy<\/h3>A long road to diagnosis<\/strong>: Erin began showing symptoms around age nine, but it took several years \u2014 and countless doctor visits \u2014 before receiving a clear diagnosis of psoriatic arthritis at 14.<\/li>
Strength through challenge<\/strong>: Through pain, fatigue, and self-doubt, she stayed determined to live fully \u2014 finishing school, working with children, and later becoming a wife and mother.<\/li>
Learning self-advocacy early<\/strong>: Erin\u2019s physician encouraged her to take an active role in her own care, helping her gain confidence and independence in managing her condition.<\/li>
Navigating motherhood with PsA<\/strong>: Balancing self-care with parenting wasn\u2019t easy, but Erin learned to listen to her body and accept that rest is a vital part of resilience.<\/li>
Coping with complications<\/strong>: Later in life, Erin developed uveitis, an inflammatory eye condition linked to spondyloarthritis. Her experience shows how chronic illness evolves \u2014 and how strength and adaptation grow alongside it.<\/li><\/ul>
